IRC Guide

Web Java client
The kawaii-radio web client is definately the easiest way to chat if you are not familiar with IRC.
Click the Chat Online button on the nav menu to launch the client.
You must have the Java Runtime Environment installed to use it.

mIRC
This is by far the most popular IRC client used today. If you're running Windows, this is probably what you want to download.
  1. Download mIRC from www.mirc.com.
  2. Open the program up and it will ask you to provide some key info needed such as your desired nickname. You also need to fill out the full name and email fields.
  3. Once this is done, press OK.
  4. To connect, type /server servername. For kawaii-radio's channel, it is /server irc.chatsociety.net.
  5. See the below image. (Your mIRC may look different, but it works the same way)

  6. Now you need to join a channel (it's like a chat room).
Type /j #kawaii-radio to join the kawaii-radio channel.

  7. This is what you should see (approximately).

  8. You're now in the #kawaii-radio channel!
  9. Be sure to read the !rules and have fun!!
